How do I create a new ad?
New ads are created from the Ads section within AdWizard in the CMS control panel. Select New Ad to begin.
Required fields
Title- an internal name for the ad, visible only in the CMS. Use something that identifies the advertiser and campaign clearly, such as "Visit Wales- Spring 2025".
Group- the ad group this ad belongs to. Select an existing group from the dropdown. If no suitable group exists, ask your site administrator to create one.
Image- the ad creative. This should be a square image at 300x300 pixels or larger. See the article on image sizing for guidance on preparing your artwork.
URL- the destination URL the ad links to when clicked. This must be a full URL including https://.
Optional fields
Start Date- the date from which the ad should begin showing. Leave blank to make the ad available immediately once enabled.
End Date- the date after which the ad should stop showing. Leave blank for an open-ended ad with no expiry.
Max Views- the maximum number of times the ad should be displayed before it is automatically retired. Leave at zero for unlimited views.
Enabling the ad
New ads are enabled by default. If you want to create an ad but hold it back from displaying on the site until a later date, disable it using the toggle in the top right corner before saving. You can enable it when you are ready for it to go live.
