How do I pause or stop a recurring campaign?
There are two ways to pause or stop a recurring campaign, depending on whether you want a temporary pause or a permanent stop.
Temporarily pausing a campaign
To pause a campaign that has already been generated and scheduled in Mailchimp, open the campaign from the Campaigns section and use the Pause option. This will unschedule the campaign in Mailchimp, preventing it from sending at its scheduled time. You can resume it later using the Resume option when you are ready to reschedule.
Stopping a template from generating new campaigns
To prevent new campaigns from being generated automatically, open the campaign template and either disable the Active toggle or turn off the Recurring toggle. A template that is not active will not generate any new campaigns, even if its recurrence settings are still configured. This is the cleanest way to put a newsletter programme on hold without deleting the template or losing your settings.
Permanently stopping a campaign
If a campaign programme is no longer needed, you can delete the campaign template from the Templates section. This will not delete campaigns that have already been generated, but no further campaigns will be produced. Previously generated campaigns that have not yet been sent will remain in Mailchimp and should be deleted from there directly if they are no longer needed.
