How do I set a limit on how many times an ad is shown?

The Max Views field on an ad allows you to cap the total number of times the ad is displayed on the site. This is useful for campaigns sold on an impression basis, or for situations where you want an ad to retire automatically after a set number of views rather than running indefinitely.

How to set a view limit
Open the ad in the CMS and enter a number in the Max Views field. Once the ad has been displayed that many times, it will automatically stop being served and will no longer appear in ad placements on the site.

Unlimited views
Setting Max Views to zero means there is no limit- the ad will continue to show until it is manually disabled, its end date passes, or it is deleted.

Checking current view counts
The Total Views field on each ad records how many times it has been displayed since it was created. You can see this figure when viewing an ad in the CMS. See the article on viewing ad performance for more detail on tracking views and clicks.
