How do I set up Email Automation for my site?
Email Automation is configured from the DestinationCore section of the CMS control panel. Navigate to Email Automation and then to the Configuration page. You will need a Mailchimp account and API key before proceeding.
Required settings
The following fields must be completed before Email Automation can be used:
Mailchimp API Key- your API key from your Mailchimp account. This can be entered directly or referenced via an environment variable set up by your site administrator.
From Name- the sender name that will appear in your subscribers' inboxes.
Reply Email- the email address subscribers will reply to.
Optional settings
Test Email- the email address used when sending test campaigns. Useful for previewing how an email looks in a real inbox before sending to your full audience.
Notification Email- an address that receives internal notifications about campaign generation and sending activity.
Enabling content sections
The configuration page also allows you to control which sections of your site can be included in campaigns- for example, Events, Blog, Offers, and so on. Enable only the sections that are relevant to your email programme. These choices determine what appears as options when creating campaign templates.
Multi-site setup
If your CMS manages more than one site, Email Automation is configured independently per site. Each site can have its own API key, sender details, and enabled sections. Switch between sites using the site selector when configuring.
