I've been added as a user but can't log in
If you have been added as a CMS user but are unable to log in, there are several common causes to work through.
Check you are using the correct login URL
The CMS login page is not located at the default address that most users might expect. If you are unsure of the correct URL, ask your site administrator to confirm it.
Check you have activated your account
When a new user account is created, Craft CMS sends an activation email to the address used to set up the account. This email contains a link that must be clicked before the account becomes active and a password can be set. Until this step is completed the account exists in the CMS but cannot be used to log in.
If you have not received an activation email, check your spam or junk folder first. If it is not there, ask your site administrator to resend the activation email from the CMS.
Check the activation link has not expired
Activation links are only valid for a limited period of time. If you clicked the link in the activation email but it returned an error, the link may have expired. Contact your site administrator and ask them to resend a fresh activation email, then use the new link promptly.
Check you are logging in with your email address
This CMS uses your email address as your login, not a separate username. If you are attempting to log in with anything other than the email address your account was created with, it will not work. Ensure you are entering your email address in the username field.
Check your password has been set
If the activation link was clicked but you did not complete the process of setting a password, your account may be in an incomplete state. Use the Forgot Password link on the login page to trigger a password reset email, which will allow you to set a new password and complete your account setup.
If you are a Business Admin user
If your account has been set up for Business Login access, your account must also be assigned to the Business Admins user group and linked to a business listing in the CMS before you will be able to access the portal. If you have activated your account and set a password but are still unable to access anything after logging in, confirm with your site administrator that your account has been set up correctly.
If none of the above resolves the issue
Contact your site administrator. They can check the status of your account in the CMS, confirm which user group you have been assigned to, and resend any necessary emails.
