Understanding user groups- what content managers, SEO managers, and business admins can each do
Access to features and content in the CMS is controlled by user groups. Your site has three main user groups, each with a different level of access.
Content Managers
Content managers have the broadest access of the three groups. They can create, edit, and publish entries across the site's sections, manage assets, work with categories, and access most content management features available in the control panel. This is the appropriate group for your core editorial team.
SEO Managers
SEO managers have a more focused set of permissions centred on the areas most relevant to search engine optimisation- managing redirects in Retour, editing SEO-related fields on entries, and accessing relevant reporting tools. They do not have the same breadth of content creation and editing permissions as content managers. This group suits team members whose remit is specifically around search visibility rather than day-to-day content production.
Business Admins
Business admins are a distinct type of user- the owners and managers of businesses listed on the site, accessing the CMS through the Business Login portal rather than the main control panel. Their access is restricted to their own business entry, a focused set of fields, and features relevant to managing a single listing. They cannot see or edit other entries on the site, and some content builder blocks available to content managers are not shown to them. See the Business Login documentation for more detail on how this group works.
