What accessibility data gets added to an entry after a survey is completed?
When an accessibility survey is completed on AccessIndex and the results are sent back to the CMS, two sets of data are populated on the business entry.
Accessibility Criteria
This field records the specific accessibility compliance criteria that the business meets based on their survey responses. Criteria cover areas such as physical access, step-free routes, hearing loop provision, accessible parking, accessible toilets, and similar features. Each criterion that applies to the business will be listed here.
Accessibility Categories
This field records the broader accessibility categories that the business qualifies for. Categories group criteria into higher-level themes- for example, "Wheelchair Accessible" or "Dementia Friendly"- and are typically used to power filtering on the frontend so that visitors can search for businesses meeting their specific accessibility needs.
A note on manual edits
Both fields are populated automatically by the survey result from AccessIndex. Avoid editing them manually, as any changes may be overwritten the next time the business completes or updates their survey on the AccessIndex platform.
