What are the settings in the Content Builder blocks for?

A: Some blocks in the Content Builder have their own settings panel, located within the block itself. Not every block has settings- but where they exist, they let you control how that block looks and behaves on the page without needing any technical knowledge.

Which blocks have settings?

Section Header- has an alignment option that lets you position the heading to the left, centre, or right of the page. You'll find this under a dropdown labelled Header Alignment within the block.

Text & Image Block- lets you choose whether the image or the text appears first. You'll find this as a toggle labelled Image Position within the block.

Parallax Section- includes a New Window toggle on the right hand side of the block, which controls whether any linked content opens in a new browser tab.

Card Section- has a number of settings that give you control over which content appears and how it's displayed, including selecting card categories, card sections, membership levels, and how many cards to show per page. There is also a New Window toggle.

A few things to bear in mind

There may be minor variations in the settings available from client to client, depending on your site's design and setup. Where settings exist, helper text is provided within the DCMS interface to guide you- it's always worth reading through that carefully as it's tailored to your specific circumstances.

💡 Top tip: If you're not sure what a setting does, the Live Preview panel is the quickest way to find out- make a change and see the effect on the front end of your site in real time before you save.
