What content blocks are available in the Content Builder?

A: The Content Builder offers a range of blocks organised into four categories: Text, Media, Entries, and Components. Each block has a specific purpose, and understanding what's available helps you make better decisions about how to structure your pages.

Here's a rundown of every block, organised by category.

Text

These are your core building blocks for written content.

Section Header- A clear, non-clickable heading that separates content sections and helps readers navigate longer pages. Use it to introduce a new topic or break up a page that covers a lot of ground.

Text Area- The most flexible text block, giving you a full WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor for writing and formatting content. This is where most of your written content will live- body copy, introductions, descriptions, and anything that needs formatting like bullet points, links, or bold text.

Block Quote- Highlights an important quote or testimonial in a visually distinct style. You can optionally include the author's name or source. Great for pulling out a key message, a visitor review, or a standout line from a longer piece.

Media

These blocks handle all your visual and video content.

Text & Image Block- Places text alongside an image, with adjustable layout (image left or right) and alignment options. One of the most versatile blocks on the list- ideal for storytelling where you want words and visuals to work together.

Full Width Image- A high-resolution image that spans the full width of the page. Use it to create visual impact- for example, setting the scene at the top of a page- or to provide a visual break between sections.

Full Width Video- Like the Full Width Image but for video. Embed a YouTube or Vimeo link to display video at full page width. Embedding rather than uploading video files directly helps protect your page speed.

Image Gallery- Displays multiple images together in an organised grid, arranged in the order you choose. Good for giving visitors a broad visual overview- a collection of venue shots, for example, or images from an event.

Image Carousel- An interactive slideshow of images. Use this when you want to guide visitors through a curated sequence of images rather than showing them all at once.

Video Carousel- An interactive slider for multiple videos. Useful when you have several videos to showcase- for example, partner content, seasonal highlights, or a series of short films.

Entries

Related Entries- Creates cards which are links to other entries on your site, helping visitors discover relevant content. For example, on a walking trails campaign page you might use Related Entries to automatically surface relevant events, Business Profiles, or blog posts.

Components

These are more structural blocks for layout, navigation, and interactive features.

General Cards- Flexible sign-posting cards that can direct visitors to different areas of your site or link to an external URL. Use these when you want to give visitors clear onward journeys- "Explore things to do", "Find somewhere to stay", "See what's on."

Parallax Section- Creates a scrolling visual effect where a background image moves at a slower speed than the page content, adding depth and movement. Works well as a visual break on longer pages or to add impact at a key moment.

Logos Section- Displays logos in a grid or carousel layout. Ideal for showcasing partners, sponsors, or members.

Collections- Groups related content items together in a browsable layout. Useful for curated content sets where you want to bring together a number of related entries in one place.

Map- An interactive map with location markers, configurable zoom level, and map type options. Good for showing a single location or a small group of places.

Card Section- Organises content into distinct visual cards in a structured layout. Use this for curated content collections where presentation and consistency matter.

Columns Layout- Splits content into multiple vertical columns. Useful for presenting comparable information side by side- seasonal highlights, key facts, or a simple feature comparison.

Table- Presents data in rows and columns. Good for structured information like opening times, pricing tiers, or accessibility details.

Advanced Map- An enhanced interactive map with additional customisation options beyond the standard Map block. Use this when you need more control over how locations are displayed- for example, a mapped itinerary or a multi-point visitor guide.
