What is the difference between Properties and Experiences?
The Availability Search Engine provides two types of bookable content that the CMS can sync and display: Properties and Experiences.
Properties
Properties are accommodation listings- hotels, holiday rentals, bed and breakfasts, campsites, and other places to stay. Each property has a name, address, and location coordinates. Properties can also have a hierarchical structure: a large estate or hotel group may appear as a parent property, with individual units or rooms as child properties beneath it.
Experiences
Experiences are bookable activities and things to do- guided tours, adventure activities, and similar. Each experience has a name, description, and location details.
How they are used in the CMS
Both are synced from the Availability Search Engine into the CMS automatically. Once synced, they appear in the Availability Search section of the control panel and can be linked to entries- for example, connecting a business listing to its corresponding property so that live availability appears on that listing page.
Whether your connection uses properties, experiences, or both depends on how the Availability Search Engine has been configured for your destination.
