Why can't a business user see a particular section or field?

Access for business users in the Business Login portal is controlled at two levels- the site-wide Business Login configuration and the package tier assigned to each individual business. If a business user cannot see a section or field that they expect to have access to, the restriction will be coming from one of these two places.

The section may not be enabled in the Business Login configuration

The Business Login feature is configured to allow access to specific sections only. Sections such as Events, Offers, Blog, Jobs, and others must be individually enabled in the Business Login settings before they appear in the portal. If a section has not been enabled at this level, no business user will see it regardless of their package tier.

This is a site-wide configuration managed by your site administrator. If a section should be available to business users but is not appearing for any of them, contact your site administrator to check the Business Login section configuration.

The business's package tier may not include that section or field

Each business is assigned a package tier which controls which sections and fields they can access within the portal. Even if a section is enabled in the Business Login configuration, a business will only see it if their package tier includes it. Similarly, individual fields within a section can be enabled or disabled at the package level- a business on a basic tier may see fewer fields than one on a premium tier.

If a business user can see a section but is missing specific fields within it, their package tier may not include those fields. Contact your site administrator to review the package assigned to the business and update it if appropriate.

The field may be permanently restricted from business users

Certain fields are intentionally hidden from all business users regardless of their package tier. By default these include the Auto Approve setting, the Business Admins field, and the Package field. These are administrative fields managed by your team and are not intended to be visible or editable by business users.

The Business Login feature may not be enabled for that site

In a multi-site setup, Business Login can be enabled or disabled independently for each site. If the business user is accessing the portal on a site where Business Login has not been enabled, they will not see any sections or content for that site.

Steps to resolve

If a business user is missing access they should have:

Check with your site administrator that the section is enabled in the Business Login configuration
Confirm the business has been assigned the correct package tier
Review the package tier to ensure it includes the section and fields in question
All of the above are managed in the DestinationCore section of the CMS control panel.
